Now, after many years, many discussions, many toys (and kitchen utensils) thrown out of the pram and many rucks, we have a website. It is not finished. It is not complete. It is not perfect but it is a start….and here it is: www.foodonthehill.net
Thankfully, we are known for our great food and not our ability to to take great photos. Saturday night saw a barnstormer of a music concert (headliner was the one and only Mr.Rick Astley. He was never going to give this one up) and a barnstomer of a barbecue cooked up by the boys on the hill. Pulled Pork, proper Hot Dogs, Burgers, Bacon Rolls and a few salads. A huge thank you to Nina for organising a great evening.
Looking at the photos, I need to go and find my eyes.
Getting ready for a very important visitor to Richmond (unfortunately it is not Michelle Pfeiffer in all her 1980’s glory). Obviously the “hardest working woman in Britain” has heard about our pies, hence the reason for the visit. We are also upholstering our chairs in case her entourage fancy something off the barbecue, whilst they wait.
Going back to his roots and looking for inspiration (expect fish on next week’s menu) Chef enjoys a Bank Holiday trip to the sea.
And there were we thinking that he was using his free time to complete our website!
Mackerel & John Dory. Our fish of the week (not literally as we have more than just these 2).
On hearing that Chef may be delivering his pies, the good citizens of Melton Mowbray do a runner.
Battling against the elements, the wine drinkers of Richmond Hill get stuck in.
Pie-tastic. Our wonderful “Texas Chilli Pie” only manged to win a Silver Award at the recent British Pie Awards. We are all slightly chuffed up on the hill.
Our “Steak & Kidney” and “Chicken, Pancetta & Vegetable” pies both picked up Bronze Awards. Not a bad days work.
Matt & I would like to offer a big cheer to Paul our great Chef, and pie man, and thanks to the rest of the team (Lukasz & Artur) for doing their bit. Special mention goes to MV for his patience and careful transportation of the pies up to Melton Mowbray.
